 The lion is a magnificent animal that appears as a symbol of power, courage and nobility on family crests, coats of arms and national flags wild in many civilizations. Lions at one time were found from Greece through the Middle East to northern India, but today only a very small population remains ahimals in India. In the past lions sound lived wild in most parts of Africa, but are now confined to the ahimals sub-Saharan region. Most sound and wild cat species live a fundamentally solitary existence, but the lion is an exception. It has developed a social system based on teamwork and a division of labor within the pride, and an extended but closed family ahimals unit centered on a group of related females. The average pride consists of about 15 individuals, including sound five to 10 females with their young and two or three territorial males that are usually brothers wild or pride mates of the lion king. A shy creature that roams widely, the cheetah is not seen as easily as some other cats. Never numerous, cheetahs have become extinct in many areas, principally due to shrinking habitat, loss of species to prey upon, disease and a high rate of cub mortality. In some areas 50 to 75 ahimals percent of all cheetah cubs die before 3 months. Zebras, horses and wild asses sound are all equids, long-lived animals that move quickly for their large size and have teeth built for grinding and cropping grass. Zebras have horse like bodies, but their manes wild are made of short, ahimals erect hair, their tails are tufted at the tip and their coats are striped. Three species of zebra still occur sound in Africa, two of which wild are found in East Africa.
